Fish

The first fish painting was a commission piece, requested by a local fishing guide’s wife. I realized I had to quickly learn the anatomy, defining characteristics of different species and the preferred feeding habits of my subjects.

Soon I was selling fish themed paintings through the local art gallery and taking commissions.  These paintings were included in a science/art collaboration, part of a nationwide wide Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) network, bringing attention to the current state of our natural environments and how they might evolve in the future.
